Sightseeing

Budapest sight-seeing: (November 10, 14.30):
3 hours Budapest sight-seeing tour starting from the conference hotel and introducing the most attractive features of the capital: the Castle Area with the Buda Palace, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion. The Gellért hill offers a breath-taking panorama of the city. At Heroes’ Square participants will get a brief overview of the history of Hungary. A dinner is offered in a typical Hungarian restaurant with wine tasting and folklore.
Prices: sight-seeing 25 €, dinner 45 €, sight seeing + dinner together 65 €.

Danube Bend excursion: (November 12, 9.30, back at 17.00)
Day trip along the river Danube including a visit to three historic towns. Szentendre is a unique artists’ town with its cobble stoned squares, picturesque old streets and 18h century town houses, including the famous Margit Kovács Ceramics Museum, the permanent exhibition containing the life work of the unique artist. We take the visitors to Visegrád, one of the most scenic spots of the Danube Bend, which was once the royal center of Hungary, lunch in  the panorama restaurant near the fortress.

The ’high castle’ is the most beautiful place and the very symbol of the Bend. Esztergom is the sacral center of Hungarian Catholicism: you will visit the Basilica, the 5th biggest church in Europe, and the treasury of it.
Prices: 48 € including entrance fees and lunch.

Budapest spas: (November 13, 9.00-13.00)
After Iceland, Hungary has the second largest reserves of surface thermal water in the world. The hot springs on  the Buda side were already used by the Celts and the Romans. You can visit several spas of the capital, including the ancient Turkish steam-bath and the Thermal on  Margaret Island. At the end of the tour participants may have a bath in our most famous thermal spa, the Gellért.
